Some Information About Me

My name is Laura Lopes - officially I have other last names, but that is how I am know in the business - and I am 33 years old. I enjoy everything I work with and challenges move me.

I have particular interest in developing web systems. I am extremely organized and usually follow patterns. I think agile methods makes developer lives easier, specially for those who are used to work alone, like me. I adopted SCRUM, but had to make some changes to make it work for my company.

I develop web systems with PHP using Zend Framework. I also have been working, as a hobby, on an app for iPhone on my weekends.

Most of my time I teach IT courses at TargetTrust. Courses I teach: PHP, Zend Framework, OOP, UML, SQL, JavaScript, XHTML, CSS, Introduction to Programming Languages.

Technologies I know: PHP, Zend Framework, SQL, XML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Software Testing. I once programmed in C and C++, but only in college. I programmed using Java during a project a college too. I also know a little about PL/SQL.

I love gadgets, I have an iPad, cannot live without my iPod. I admit I am a Apple fan, but I also work well with both Linux and Windows.

I need new and inspiring projects to motivate me.

I speak English fluently. I have travelled to Canada and my English skills worked just fine.
